What is Pima Cotton and what difference does it have over regular cotton?

Pima cotton is a premium, higher quality cotton. This is because Pima is an extra-long staple (ELS) fiber, its fiber is much longer than ordinary cotton. The difference in their length, allows Pima Cotton fabric to have a softer and richer texture, be wrinkle resistant and be way stronger and more durable. Pima is also known to be beneficial for those who have sensitive skin, that is why so many newborn and baby clothes are made with Pima cotton.

Pima cotton originated in Peru and it gets its name after the Pima Indians who cultivated this wonderful fiber. Pima cotton is also grown in USA and Australia.
